Rouleau is an Edmonton-based movement education studio helping people reduce pain, recover from injury, and build physical resilience for the long term.

We work with adults who have tried “doing the right things” - fitness programs, therapy, treatments, rest - and still feel like something isn’t quite adding up. The effort is there, but the trajectory hasn’t really changed.

Rouleau exists to change that direction.

A different relationship with your body

Most approaches to health focus on managing symptoms, maintaining function, or slowing decline.

Rouleau starts from a different premise:

The body can adapt, recover, and grow more capable — at any age — when given the right inputs.

Our work is about restoring trust in your body, so it becomes a source of confidence and support again, not something you’re constantly managing, protecting, or working around.

People come to Rouleau when they want:

  • less pain and more ease in everyday life
  • a way forward after injury or surgery — or a way to avoid it
  • strength, mobility, and confidence that increase with time
  • a clearer understanding of how their body actually works

What makes Rouleau different

Rouleau is not a gym, a class schedule, or a collection of techniques.

It’s a structured movement education system designed to:

  • restore physical capacity
  • build resilience against injury and breakdown
  • help the body adapt intelligently over time

We focus on skills, not exhaustion.

On direction, not intensity.

On long-term capability, not short-term fixes.

Many people arrive frustrated or confused by conflicting advice. What they often say after some time at Rouleau is simpler:

“Things feel connected again.”

“I don't feel doomed anymore..”

“I can’t go back to not knowing this.”

Who Rouleau is for

Rouleau works with people across a wide range of backgrounds and activity levels, including:

  • adults dealing with persistent pain or recurring injuries
  • people recovering from surgery - or trying to avoid it
  • desk workers feeling the toll of modern work
  • active adults who want to keep golfing, playing, hiking, and living fully
  • executives who want actually enjoy their life's work and legacy

You don’t need to be “fit.”

You don’t need to push harder.

You need a clearer path forward.

How people work with Rouleau

In Edmonton, Rouleau offers:

  • Small-group classes focused on longevity and resilience
  • Private one-on-one support (Transform) for deeper, personalized guidance
  • Workplace programs supporting staff health and sustainability
  • Workshops and intensives for targeted learning and recovery

Everything we offer is built around the same goal:

a body that gets stronger, more capable, and more trustworthy over time.

A different kind of confidence

Rouleau isn’t about outsourcing your health to experts, machines, or protocols.

It’s about learning how to care for your body in a way that actually works - so you can move forward with confidence, clarity, and autonomy.

When the body starts moving in the right direction, people feel it quickly.

When that direction holds, everything else gets easier.

Hear what our students are saying...

“Physically, I feel amazing. I used to go on a beach walk for about an hour, and just at the end of it, my hips were just screaming at me. It was like a couple of years of that. I'm starting to forget I ever had an issue there. I even did a three - hour hike a month ago or something - and I didn't even think about it. I had no pain. I just didn’t even realize it."
Cecily, Australia
“My student was supposed to get her hip replaced. But after a year, her doctor told her, ‘Your hips look great. You don’t need a replacement right now. We don’t need to do surgery.’ And she said, ‘It’s the Rouleau classes.’ She comes three times a week. She’s so dedicated."
Wendy, Germany
“I was in an accident and suffered a pretty significant brain concussion. I was on a walker for 3 months. Couldn’t drive for 9. I made more progress in 6 months with Rouleau than I made in a year of neuro rehab. I’m doing things that I really was terrified to do. I’m probably close to where I was before my injury. But that’s not good enough anymore. I want to keep pushing myself and challenging myself.”
Melanie, USA
“I talk about being the poster child for this work because two years ago, I could hardly walk up the stairs. I had so much inflammation, so much discomfort. My doctors suggested surgery. But I’ve been doing this work every single day since then. My knees are doing great. I go days - weeks, even - without even thinking that I ever had any pain in them. It’s remarkable.”
Barbara, Canada
“At 42, I’ve never felt more capable. I’m doing things I used to be terrified of. My kids think their mommy is strong and they are super impressed by that - I enjoy showing them little things they can use in their everyday life. Even emptying the dishwasher - I’m intentionally trying to use those parts of my body. I know now it helps prevent injury, but it also makes you stronger.”
Danielle, USA
“Going to get groceries, I used to have to hold on to the cart. I used to just focus on the pain-and the lack of mobility. But now when I come here, I feel joy. This lifts me up every week. It’s making me feel better about me.”
Kim, CANADA
